Every Thursday night at The House in Starke, several young people gather and we have “House Church”. We don’t call it a youth group, or a youth church because our primary emphasis is on the discipleship of radical young people. I felt like I needed to share with everyone some of my notes from what we’ve been discussing.
Sin Management – It gets you to focus on “stop sinning”
Grace Management – It gets you to focus on living and believing everything God says about you.
Gal 5:16 – If we get in line with everything God says about us, we won’t sin.
- If you live by Grace, you’re not under the Law of Sin Management. Thus, if you live according to what God says about you, then you don’t have to live according to the Law of Sin Management.
- Sin Management laws were put into existence to show man that he was not living according to who God says man is.
Gal 5:14 – Jesus came to show us who and what God says we are, thus nullifying the need for Sin Management laws
Gal 5:16 – Therefore, if you walk in the Spirit (knowledge, attitude, and understanding) of who and what God says you are, you won’t sin.
- You cannot please God if you don’t act, live, or believe what and who He says you are. You please God by believing and responding to what He says about you.
I think that’s enough for today. I’ll share a little bit more over the next few days including a break down of the difference between living from the Sin Management perspective and the Grace Management perspective. Give us your thoughts.

Dude, welcome to the e-community. I’m so glad to see everybody taking advantage of this forum to reach out and touch someone. There’s no reason that everybody can’t contribute content.
This is a fundamental teaching that is soooo important for young people to get ahold of. It’s really a matter of identity in the end….not so much about who we are in Christ as it is about who Christ is in us.
Hi! If I may stengthen and embellish this teaching I would say, “the just shall live by his faith” Habbakkuk 2:4,k Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11, Hebrews 10:38, and “without faith it is impossible to please God” Hebrews 11:6 kjv
