Preparing People for Purposeful Living

Posted by Christina Greene ADD COMMENTS

First LoveEveryone wants to feel loved.  Many people look for love in everything that they do.  They search frantically for it from friends, family, and spouses.  When they don’t find love from people, they turn to other things to comfort them (ex. alcohol, drugs, gambling, cutting, sex, etc.)

But what people don’t realize is that what they are missing is God’s love.  His love is the only pure love that can fill the emptiness inside of us.  Some people base God’s love on what they have found from other people, and expect for Him not to love them.  But people come from a sinful nature, and God has never been sinful.  We can’t base His love on what other people have done to us, we can only base it on what the Bible tells us.

Here are a few scriptures that tell us of His love:

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.”  Colossians 3:12 (NIV)

“For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you.”  1 Thessalonians 1:4 (NIV)

“But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions–it is by grace you have been saved.”  Ephesians 2:4-5 (NIV)

So be encouraged.  When you start to feel like nobody loves you, remember that God loves you greatly.

About Us

Grace Community Fellowship is a ministry that is built upon grace, as evidenced in the favor and ability of God working through the lives of people. We are a community of Spirit-empowered believers in the Lord Jesus Christ working together through a diversity of gifts to fulfill the mandate of Christ to make disciples of all men. Our mission is to empower people to fulfill their God-given potential through knowledge of the Word of God and the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. This is accomplished through the essential ministry components of corporate worship, the communication of biblical truth, and prayer.
