Preparing People for Purposeful Living

Waiting Expectantly“If you need wisdom – if you want to know what God wants you to do – ask him, and he will gladly tell you. He will not resent your asking. But when you ask him, be sure that you really expect him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. People like that should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.” James 1:5-7 (NLT)

There come times in our lives when we really need the wisdom of the Lord. God doesn’t want us to be afraid to ask Him. The above scripture tells us that He will gladly tell us what He wants us to do. But He doesn’t want us to ask for His wisdom and not expect an answer.

You wouldn’t ask a teacher a question and not expect them to answer you. So why would you ask God (Our Great Teacher) for wisdom and not expect an answer from Him? Sometimes we may really want an answer from God, but we don’t expect one. The above scripture tells us that if we doubt that God can answer us, we shouldn’t expect to receive anything from Him. We need to remove all doubt from our minds and trust that He gladly wants to answer us. Then we need to expect an answer and wait until we hear from Him.

Pray for God to renew your mind and remove all doubt. Ask Him for His wisdom to guide you in all of your decisions. Expect Him to answer you and trust His wisdom.

About Us

Grace Community Fellowship is a ministry that is built upon grace, as evidenced in the favor and ability of God working through the lives of people. We are a community of Spirit-empowered believers in the Lord Jesus Christ working together through a diversity of gifts to fulfill the mandate of Christ to make disciples of all men. Our mission is to empower people to fulfill their God-given potential through knowledge of the Word of God and the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. This is accomplished through the essential ministry components of corporate worship, the communication of biblical truth, and prayer.
